Yasmine is a third year communications student whose trying to figure out what to do with such a random degree, whether to pursue law or journalism, depending of course on which graduate school will be nice enough to accept her.

Yasmine joined MIST mainly to keep an eye on her younger brother and thankfully, she still has two more years left to do that before it’s too late and he graduates.

Gabriel is a graduate from the University of Toronto with a major in History while minoring in Political Science and Religion. Oddly enough, he is currently freelancing as a web developer, which makes no sense, and a professional video game player — although, no one wants to hire him for the latter, most likely due to the economy. Despite that, he intends to play video games well into his 80′s. He enjoys non-emo political activism, is very thankful for everything Allah (swt) has provided and working to constantly learn to do every action for His sake alone. He has been involved with MIST as a volunteer since day one and is very happy to be back with this awesome team.

Aisha has just finished an advance diploma in Human Resources Management from Centennial College. She will be starting her 3rd year in York University to finish her degree from winter 2012. She is from Karachi, Pakistan. Aisha is a new member of MIST team her position is a registration coordinator, she loves cooking, pot painting and watching comedy movies.

Abdul Wasey Faruqi

Abdul Wasey Faruqi is in 4th year Commerce at McMaster University with a major in Marketing and a minor in Linguistics. As the former President of his MSA, he has worked alongside several Muslim organizations in both Hamilton and Mississauga. He currently serves as the Senior Advisor and a regular khateeb on campus.

Like many graduating students, he is anxiously awaiting the dark abyss of confusion and unemployment that welcome him outside of campus walls. He hopes to embrace it with open-arms for a short period, quickly regain his footing, and make it rain in the big leagues. With his positive outlook on life, AW sees every opportunity to develop himself as an individual and as a community leader.

Adam got involved with MIST last year as a judge for the debates competition, after which he fell in love with MIST and wanted to get more involved. Now he is a Registration Coordinator. Adam enjoys eating spicy biryani and reading up on the latest tech news.

Farihah Kamali

Farihah has been a part of MIST since her senior year in high school and is now a member of the Registration & Marketing team. She is currently an undergrad student at the University of Toronto and is a Student Experience Associate for UTSC’s Management and Economics Students’ Association (MESA). She loves to “mom” people, and she usually has extra food with her so if you’re hungry, sick, or otherwise needy, you know who to call. In her spare time, she loves baking, reading, learning, and laughing at just about everything.

Aysha has been a MIST pioneer since its launch in 2008. After competing in the tournament she had to make the tough decision to graduate highschool, although no longer a competitor she came back as a Competition Coordinator. Aysha enjoys traveling and gets Misty eyed when she hears a good pun.
